Use one of our perfectly located Orlando vacation rentals as a base, and you will have the perfect spot to discover so much more than just the home of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Located in Central Florida, Orlando (Florida’s third largest city) is known as “The City Beautiful” and of course is regarded as “The Theme Park Capital of the World.” Theme parks alone draw over 62 million visitors per year but it doesn’t take much to find things to do outside of the theme parks.

What to Do

Theme Parks:

On top of many tourists’ lists when visiting Orlando is obviously the vast array of theme parks. There are vacation rentals near the Legoland Florida Resort, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal’s Islands of Adventure (home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter) and Epcot. And who can forget Walt Disney World which encompasses The Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and so much more? Children and adults alike can all find a park to enjoy with many parks offering activities for all ages. My personal favorites at The Magic Kingdom are Space Mountain, Cinderella’s Castle and grabbing a bite at the Rainforest Café. One other amazing experience is swimming with Dolphins at Discovery Cove. And don’t forget to catch the Disney fireworks show on Main Street!

Shopping, Dining, Attractions:

When looking for a vacation home, you should consider what activities you will want to do while in Orlando outside of the awesome theme parks. You can go shopping at The Mall at Millenia or the Premium Outlets, explore the nightlife at Universal’s CityWalk, or even take a short drive to the Kennedy Space Center. If you’re visiting Orlando, we suggest you come hungry. Grab great barbecue at 4 Rivers Smokehouse or visit one of the many celebrity-chef anchored restaurants such as the Wolfgang Puck Grand Café. You can even take in a jousting show at the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament while enjoying a juicy turkey leg.

When to Visit

Peak season for Orlando is usually any time schools are not in session. January to April has the nicest weather with temperatures being in the mid-70s most days and agreeable prices on travel and lodging. The fall is a nice time to visit as well but avoid those holiday breaks! Summertime is by far the hottest and the most expensive as attractions will take advantage or children being out of school to drive prices up.

  • Vacation Rentals Near Legoland: For vacation rentals near Legoland, FL consider a home near Kissimmee, which is located between Legoland and Disney and near Seaworld and Universal.  Our best Legoland FL vacation rental is in the beautiful Watersong Resort which is about 20 minutes from Disney and 45 minutes from Legoland.
  • Vacation Rentals Near Disney: Disney is located just Southwest of Orlando. We also suggest Kissimmee for selection, proximity and restaurants and attractions that are geared toward families.  For families on a budget, we suggest the Villas at Seven Dwarfs Lane. The townhomes in this resort allow renters to have access to all private resort facilities.  Disney is only 4 miles away.
  • Vacation Rentals Near Universal Orlando Resort: Universal Orlando Resort is north of Disney and just south of the city of Orlando. It is 13 minutes by car from one resort to the other. Our best vacation rental near Universal is the Super Solana Pool Home. It is big enough for two families but priced for one. You’ll love the heated pool (and spa), large outdoor entertaining area and BBQ Grill that is ready to go. You will also have access to the on-site resort which includes a gym, general store, child’s play area and arcade.  It is super conveniently located under a 30-minute drive from Universal, Disney, Golf and Shopping.
